Pediatric patients ages 9-17 from Joslin Diabetes Center were treated to a visit with Nick Jonas who was in Boston this summer for the Future Now Tour with co-headliner Demi Lovato. The Jonas brother was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes when he was 13; he told the kids his family considered Joslin for his treatment, knowing it is one of the best places in the world, but stayed closer to home in NJ at the time. Jonas spent time with 40 pediatric patients and some parents talking about their shared experiences as kids living with type 1 diabetes before his show, and then stayed for the concert in suites, graciously donated by the TD Garden! Jonas has inspired these young patients at Joslin Diabetes Center not only with his musical talent, but with his openness about living with diabetes, encouraging the kids that with hard work and dedication you can control your diabetes and do whatever you want with your life.
